Mike James

Manteo

Maybe we forgot rain as a surprise
Maybe we found a new kind of jellyfish on our barefoot beach travels
Maybe we found another word for yesterday, which is still there
Maybe we used the kitchen’s clock to help us wait
And blue jays replaced cardinals as our favorites
And blue jays claimed every pleasant sky day
Maybe we found a magic coin which always returned to our pockets
Maybe we checked every carved tree heart for a hollow password
Maybe we found another word for yesterday, which is still there
